TTM Technologies Advances Production Capabilities with Multi-Million Dollar Investment in Orbotech Equipment
29.12.11

- Transitioning AOI Fleet to Latest Generation Fusion™ Systems -

Billerica, MA Orbotech, Inc., the North American subsidiary of Orbotech Ltd., a leading global provider of yield-enhancing and production solutions for printed circuit boards (PCBs), today announced that TTM Technologies, Inc. has made a major, multi-million dollar investment in latest generation Orbotech equipment.

These new systems are being utilized in TTM Technologies’ bare printed circuit board (PCB) production facilities located throughout the United States. Following extensive evaluations in multiple sites, TTM has chosen Orbotech’s flagship Fusion™ Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system as its inspection platform of choice based on the system’s superior productivity, low false call rate and ease-of-use on a wide variety of materials and applications. TTM has begun transitioning its existing fleet of legacy Orbotech AOI systems to Fusion™ with the initial purchase of eight systems. Included in the investment are also additional Paragon™ Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) systems and Sprint™-100 inkjet legend printers.

“At TTM, we are focused on delivering highly complex printed circuit boards in significantly compressed lead times to enable our customers to develop sophisticated electronic products quickly and reduce their time to market”, commented Mr. Shane Whiteside, Chief Operating Officer at TTM Technologies. “By investing in Orbotech’s state-of-the-art production tools and implementing advanced manufacturing processes, we are able to remain at the forefront of the PCB industry as a best-in-class market leader.”

Mr. Gaby Waisman, President of Orbotech West, said: “TTM is an impressive, leading company driven by technology advancement. This major investment in new Orbotech equipment, including replacing their existing older generation systems, demonstrates their strong belief that the utilization of the most advanced, enabling production tools is a critical factor in their global business success. We are proud to be working with them and look forward to continuing our long-term partnership.”
