ORBOTECH LTD. today announced the introduction of its new Symbion™ S36 Plus automated optical inspection (AOI) system for the post-reflow stage of the electronics assembly manufacturing process.
Symbion S36 Plus delivers enhancements in top-of-the-line AOI to help manufacturers achieve outstanding operational efficiency and high first-pass yield in even the most demanding high-mix and high-volume SMT environments.
Part of Orbotech's total solution approach for defect prevention, Symbion S36 Plus features superior DPIX™ detection technology, highest performance at line speed, easy Wizard & Go™ operation and seamless integration with the new ADVISOR Central™ database and software tools for highly-effective process control.
'Symbion S36 Plus extends the high-end performance capabilities of our proven Symbion S36 platform by incorporating technology and architecture enhancements for post-reflow inspection, including a more powerful optical head with color capability and additional high resolution verification cameras', said Mr. Ronny Shalev, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Electronics Assembly at Orbotech Ltd. 'This new model is an outcome of our on-going research and development efforts to provide leading solutions that enable manufacturers to significantly increase productivity and improve product quality, while achieving major operational cost savings.'
Experience Defect Freedom by Turning Your Line Data into Action
Symbion S36 Plus is part of Orbotech's total solution approach for defect prevention that expands the role of AOI from traditional defect detection alone to a high performance tool for improving overall line quality. From a single source, manufacturers can access process performance data. With this information, users can act upon process results, in real-time, to prevent defects before they occur. By turning their line data into action, manufacturers can experience the freedom that results from the reduction of defects - higher yields, better production efficiencies and increased profitability.
