YAVNE, ISRAEL, JANUARY 28, 2015 | ORBOTECH LTD.Orbotech announced today that German PCB manufacturer Würth Elektronik has selected Orbotech as their vendor-of-choice for Direct Imaging (DI) technology with the purchase of the latest Nuvogo 800 DI system. The system was purchased for use in the company’s Rot am See site which specializes in manufacturing web shop based orders where a short job processing turnaround time is essential.

Würth customers who place their order online come from various industry sectors including automotive and industrial applications. These conditions require the highest degree of flexibility in production and highest degree of equipment uptime. “This year, we experienced a very high demand and therefore need to ramp up our production capacity”, explained Mr. Klaus Weingärtner, the Rot am See Site Manager. “We chose Orbotech’s Nuvogo system as it offers the flexibility we require. This system also allows us to pattern solder resists using DI technology. This decreases turnaround time in production and increases the overall productivity of our site.”

“We are pleased that Würth Elektronik has again chosen Orbotech’s DI technology” said Mr. Hadar Himmelman, President of Orbotech West. “We celebrate with the Rot am See site in its ongoing success and look forward to continuing to support it with our cutting-edge technology and dedicated local service.”

About Nuvogo 800

Nuvogo™ 800 is a next-generationDirect Imaging (DI) solution capable of imaging on almost every resist type, affording maximum flexibility to PCB makers. Powered by MultiWave Laser Technology™, Nuvogo 800 generates a multi wavelength laser beam for optimal line structure. This provides PCB manufacturers the ability to choose lower-cost resist types in order to further reduce total operating costs.

Thishigh-productivity machine is able to achieve up to 7,000 panels/day/line at unprecedented quality. Superior line quality and registration accuracy is achieved through Orbotech’s field-proven Large Scan Optics (LSO) Technology™. Suitable for the most advanced HDI production, Nuvogo 800 ensures a high depth-of-focuscritical for maximizing yields in increasingly challenging production environments. The combination of super high-productivity, flexibility to use almost any resist and unmatched yields results in the lowest possible cost-per-print and significantly lowers the system's total cost of ownership.
